(Interestingly, the Fairmont Hotel is hosting a special party for Billie Jean King this weekend. Imagine the scene: PowerBook-toting, Penne Palermo-filled geeks threading their way through racket-wielding, well-dressed -- and most importantly -- very well-tanned debutantes in the hotel lobby. You just can't make this stuff up.) Today, many attendees are arriving for tomorrow's first day of special training classes. The major event this evening is an informal dinner organized by Rich Gay of Foresight Technology. Perhaps after a bottle or two of California wine Rich will expound on the recent coverage in MacWEEK regarding his company's new product that reportedly links 4D and Java. (Conference attendees: the dinner party meets at 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel to decide where to go; the front desk will disclose the dinner's location for latecomers.) (Later Note: the dinner is being held at the Ristorante Palermo, on the corner of San Salvador and 2nd Street in trendy downtown SOFA district of San Jose.
